Youth Camp (Monday)

Day 4

YouthCamp-30On Monday after breakfast, Stephanie shared her experiences about dating gone poorly, and dating gone right. Cecil gave a message on living for God instead of living for ourselves. Pastor Eddie talked about how our lives should revolve around the Son (sun). We tend to think of ourselves as the sun (the center of our universe), but we are really more like the moon… cold, dark, and lifeless. However, when our life revolves around the Son, we reflect His light and warmth to the world.

YouthCamp-54After morning services, the youth headed to a nearby ranch to enjoy some water fun. Everything from swimming in the pool, to a game that involved pulling teammates on inner-tubes down a soapy sheet of plastic, to a game of soapy tug of war.

YouthCamp-55While they were having fun, the Atlee team was busy peeling potatoes and getting ready to serve lunch. We were a little smarter the second day… we had the youth line up to come and pick up the food (buffet style) instead of us trying to pass food to all of the tables.

Finally came the time to say goodbye to all of our new friends, and they parted for their various destinations. The youth camp was quite an experience, and you can tell from the photos that they had a lot of fun. It didn’t take us long to miss them.

Happy Birthday WashoAfter taking down the food tent, we packed for our trip to Lita. Paul’s missing suitcase showed up… a little banged up, but with all the contents still intact. We wrapped up our evening with a surprise birthday party for Pastor Washo. The ladies baked a cake and the team brought gifts from the US.
