The pain in my both my shoulders is finally gone… Last week, I went to get my shots for the trip. That included immunizations for:
- Hepatitis A (series of 2 shots, good for life)
- Hepatitis B (series of 3 shots, good for life)
- Tetanus (good for 10 years)
- Typhoid (good for 2 years)
- Yellow Fever (good for 10 years)
Seems there a shortage on Yellow Fever vaccine. Had to call around Richmond to find it, and then had to wait until they found 4 other people who also needed it. It’s currently only available in a 5-dose quantity, and has to be administered within 60 minutes of opening.
Lastly, there’s the anti-Malaria pills, no shot for that one…
I should be ready to travel anywhere in the world, now that I’ve survived ‘persecution by needle’.

Mark Alling submitted trip summaries for Atlee’s first two trips to Ecuador in 2004 and 2007. This will give you some great background information on how and why Atlee got involved with mission trips to Ecuador, and what’s been accomplished there. There are also links to photo collections and slideshows for both trips. Visit the Previous Trips page to view.
Thanks Mark !
