The pain in my both my shoulders is finally gone… Last week, I went to get my shots for the trip. That included immunizations for:
- Hepatitis A (series of 2 shots, good for life)
- Hepatitis B (series of 3 shots, good for life)
- Tetanus (good for 10 years)
- Typhoid (good for 2 years)
- Yellow Fever (good for 10 years)
Seems there a shortage on Yellow Fever vaccine. Had to call around Richmond to find it, and then had to wait until they found 4 other people who also needed it. It’s currently only available in a 5-dose quantity, and has to be administered within 60 minutes of opening.
Lastly, there’s the anti-Malaria pills, no shot for that one…
I should be ready to travel anywhere in the world, now that I’ve survived ‘persecution by needle’.

I am happy to be done with all the shots too! The preparation continues… prayer, packing, getting all the animals settled. I am excited and a little anxious as well.
